Next to the heart of FUNWHOLE Town, the FUNWHOLE Antique Store, lies a new-born gem that merges the love for literature with the art of building — The newly-released FUNWHOLE Book Café. This marvellous set isn't just a haven for book lovers but also a testament to rebuild realistic block set, with each floor carefully crafted to evoke different atmospheres, and all enhanced by thoughtful lighting effect that brings the café to life as the day fades into night.
As the second modular building set created by FUNWHOLE in its TOWN LIFE series, the Book Cafe inherits the brand advantages of building as many realistic details as possible.
FUNWHOLE's Another Lighting Showcase: How We Create Warm Atomosphere
As FUNWHOLE's strongest aspect, the lighting design team research in over hundreds of European Cafe's lighting styles to recreate the best feeling in this very unique book cafe made by building bricks. The placements of lighting are well thought and we would love to pick two of them to share to you.
Firstly, the street lamp is added not only as a decoration for more details, but also serve as a compensation lighting to lighting up the exteior of the first and second floor. At the beginning of the experiment, two lightbulbs on the building itself exhibit not enough lighting, and many details were not able to be shown under a fully dark room. The team was able to restructure the wire to allow the set up of the lamp to compensate more lighting effect and allow you to see clearly the beautiful exterior with our lights.
Secondly, different tonalities of lighting are in use. While the outside uses brighter lights, the inside, especially the second floor for sitting and chilling, the team applies a warmer, more yellow-ish effect. It demonstrates a relaxing atmosphere, with the sofa underneath the light, the corner is then standing out.
The Story Continues In the FUNWHOLE Town
The book cafe carries the story of Elsa, who is the daughter of News Stand's owner, Albert. Influenced by her father, Elsa has been in love with reading and writing, and publishing books would be one of her dreams she is working hard for.
Meanwhile, brewing coffee is another hobby of hers. She believes coffee is not only a mind kicker but also an essence of life. The complex taste of coffee is exactly like good books, it takes time and heart to create and to be tasted.
There is a writer and a publisher in the minifigures set, how will they impact Elsa's journey? You can be the one who decides this!
Overall, the Book Cafe is another well crafted set that mixes with immersive details, well-thought lighting designs and a story waiting for your to explore. Elsa would love to invite all brick lovers to visit her warm and delicate cafe!
